Amphotericin B/amphotericin B liposomal Nephrotoxicity and resistant hypokalaemia: 4 case reports In an international, retrospective multicentre study of 74 patients, conducted between June 2002 and September 2017, 4 adult patients [sexes and exact ages not stated] were described, who developed nephrotoxicity and resistant hypokalaemia during treatment with amphotericin B or amphotericin B liposomal for rhino-orbito-cerebral mucormycosis [ROCM; routes, dosages, duration of treatments to reactions onsets and outcomes not stated].The patients were hospitalised for ROCM and started receiving amphotericin B liposomal [liposomal amphotericin B; n=2] and amphotericin B (n=2). During course of treatment, the patients developed nephrotoxicity and resistant hypokalaemia, which were considered as treatment-related side effects.Subsequently, amphotericin B or amphotericin B liposomal were stopped on 14th-50th day of the treatment. Three out of 4 patients started receiving posaconazole. While, other one patient started receiving amphotericin B liposomal.
