What is Early Qur about?

The document discusses the early career of Muhammad as a prophet based on an analysis of the earliest Quranic surahs. It argues that Muhammad began his prophetic mission by prophesying the imminent downfall of the Sasanian ruler Khusrow II, who represented a "neo-Pharaoh" figure. This positioned Muhammad in the role of a classic prophetic warner. Only later did his mission evolve to focus more on establishing his authority within the Hijaz region and preaching monotheism, rather than centered on predictions
