This document compares five different methods for extracting cellulose from sugarcane bagasse. All methods involved alkaline treatments to remove non-cellulosic components. Characterization with FTIR, XRD, TGA, SEM and OM showed that all methods produced white cellulose-like materials with improved thermal stability and crystallinity due to component removal.
