Though Japan suffered a major setback in the early 90 s, the importance of Asia only grew with the rise of Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. Then, there is China; and more recently, India. Indeed, the majority of the global growth comes from Asia, with China and India accounting for close to 50 % of the world growth rate (33.4 % and 14.7 %, respectively, in 2021). The original conception of this special issue came about in 2019, marking the 20-year anniversary of the end of the East Asia financial crisis, and a decade after the global Sub-prime crisis. Asia has both been the source and victim of these financial meltdowns. As such, the natural question to ask is what is the status of uncertainty and risk management among Asian economies. Of course, then COVID-19 happened. To put matters into more current perspective, global uncertainty has risen dramatically
