About this document
Seawater Heavy Metal Pollution in Algiers by Renny Marlini is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This study assessed seawater pollution by heavy metals near Algiers, Algeria using sediments and the sea urchin Paracentrotus lividus as bioindicators. Zinc, lead, cadmium, copper, and iron concentrations were measured in sediments and sea urchin gonads from three sites. The most larval abnormalities were found at a site near Algiers polluted by lead. Zinc levels in female gonads exceeded background levels for the Mediterranean Sea. Toxicity bioassays on sea urchin larvae linked metal contamination in sedim
