What is Request for Exam Make-Up After Accident about?

Carolina Macchi emails her biology professor Dr. Paulus to request an exception to his exam make-up policy after being in a car accident on the day of the midterm exam. She explains that she was unable to make it to campus on time to take the exam due to the accident, though nobody was hurt. She asks if it would be possible to take the exam late or complete an alternate assignment for partial credit.
