What is NATO Country Codes Overview about?

This document lists the NATO country codes based on the eighth and ninth editions of STANAG 1059. The eighth edition replaced all two-letter codes with three-letter codes based on ISO 3166-1, while the ninth edition further replaced some codes with longer three- or six-letter codes. The codes cover NATO member countries as well as other geographic entities and imaginary exercise countries.
