What is Food in the 21St Century : from Science to Sustainable Agriculture about?
This report builds on the third system review of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), and is responsive to the challenges posed regarding food security, poverty, the environment, and genetic resources, within an integrated approach to the complex components of the overall challenge of feeding the world in the twenty first century. The report further examines the scientific breakthroughs that have the potential to radically reshape the world's agricultural, and food production. i.e., the gene revolution or bio-technology, natural resource management, and the information revolution. Recommendations suggest the need for a greater emphasis on governmental policy research, and reform; enhanced cooperation, and uncompromised objectives from the private sector; and, the need for partners
