What is Treatment of relapsed/refractory CD19-positive B/T-$$$mixed phenotype acute leukemia with blinatumomab about?

Both EBV and COVID-19 infections are associated with either warm or cold agglutinins. In our patient, we failed to prove the presence of cold and warm agglutinins, which makes the case more interesting. Other causes of hemolysis were ruled out. His refractory hemolysis and liver failure is most likely due to EBV, precipitated by COVID and M pneumoniae. He was treated with steroids and blood transfusions, did well and remained stable, and was later discharged with outpatient hematology follow-up. His blood counts remained stable on follow up, but his liver failure persisted, raising suspecion for chronic active EBV. The patient reported that he quit alcohol on follow up. Conclusion: Although EBV is commonly associated with AIHA, this case had negative DAT with persistent liver involvement. Alcohol alone was insufficeint to explain his presentation.
