What is 5G RAN Architecture for Broadcast Services about?

This document proposes a new 5G radio access network architecture to efficiently support both unicast and multicast/broadcast transmission modes, including the delivery of terrestrial broadcast services. The architecture is based on 3GPP Release 15 and enhances it with Cloud-RAN functionality and new concepts like RAN Broadcast/Multicast Areas to allow more flexible deployment compared to eMBMS. High-level methods are used to evaluate the feasibility of the proposed design and compare it to 3GPP requirement
