About this document
Coherent Light Pulse Propagation Study by Denise Araújo is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This document presents a study of the propagation of small-area pulses of coherent light through resonant matter. It is found that small-area pulses obey an area theorem requiring the pulse area to decay exponentially with distance of propagation through an attenuating medium. However, this does not necessarily mean the pulse energy decays exponentially. Pulses with durations comparable to or shorter than the transverse relaxation time T2 of the medium propagate with low energy loss, as the pulse envelope o
