Cat Ba National Park is located on Cat Ba Island in northern Vietnam. It is 120 km from Hanoi and 20 km east of Haiphong. The national park covers 15,200 hectares and contains tropical forests, coastal waters, beaches, and diverse plant and animal life including 300 fish species, 40 animal species, 150 bird species, and 620 plant species. Archaeological evidence such as stone tools and human bones show the area has been inhabited for at least 6,000 years.
