Yolanda Santos was convicted of 14 counts of qualified theft by the Regional Trial Court and the conviction was affirmed by the Court of Appeals. Santos appealed her conviction to the Supreme Court. She was employed as a property accountant and was accused of stealing various amounts totaling over PHP 1 million from her employer, Dasman Realty and Development Corporation, on different dates between 2011-2013.
