What is The Pity of War: Wilfred Owen about?

Wilfred Owen wrote his collection of poems while recovering from trauma at Craiglockhart hospital in 1917, focusing on the theme of war and its associated pity rather than glorifying heroism. His introduction emphasizes that English poetry is not yet ready to address the true nature of war. Owen died in battle on November 4, 1918, just one week before the end of World War I.
