About this document
Effectiveness of Sorghum Selection Methods by Muslim Enu is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This study compared the effectiveness of pedigree and modified bulk selection methods for improving yield in three sorghum populations. The genetic materials were 60 F6 lines from crosses between varieties that had undergone pedigree or modified bulk selection. Results showed no significant difference between selection methods, indicating both were equally effective in increasing sorghum yield. Pedigree selection increased grain yield per panicle by 14.1 g and modified bulk selection increased it by 18.2 g.
