About this document

Forces in Magnetic Fields Explained by Harshdeep Ware is a document available to read on EtoBox.

The magnetic field between the poles of a permanent magnet runs from North to South, while the field around a wire carrying a current is circular. When these two fields interact in the same space, they create forces that push the fields apart. The force on the wire is equal and opposite to the total forces on the magnet, and can be calculated based on whether the fields reinforce or cancel each other out, with the direction of force changing if the current or magnets are reversed.
