Treatment failure and neutropenic fever: case report A 57-year-old woman experienced treatment failure during treatment with cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, prednisone, rituximab, cisplatin, cytarabine, dexamethasone and methotrexate for primary bone diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (PB-DLBCL). Subsequently, she also developed neutropenic fever during treatment with methotrexate for PB-DLBCL [not all routes stated]. The woman presented with a 2-month history of lumbosacral/low extremity pain. Previously, she had received acupuncture and moxibustion but led to no effect. She had also received empirical anti-tuberculosis treatment with poor efficiency. Further investigations confirmed a diagnosis of PB-DLBCL in September 2010. Treatment was started in October 2010 with one cycle of the CHOP chemotherapy regimen comprising cyclophosphamide 750 mg/m 2 , doxorubicin 50 mg/m 2 and vincristine 2mg on day 1, and prednisone 100mg on days 1-5, administered every 21 days. She also received 6 cycles of the R-CHOP chemotherapy regimen comprising rituximab 375 mg/m 2 , cyclophosphamide 750 mg/m 2 , doxorubicin 50 mg/m 2 and vincristine 2mg on day 1, and prednisone 100mg on days 1-5, adm
