What is Type Inspection Authorization Process about?
The Type Inspection Authorization (TIA) is a form used by the FAA to authorize inspections and flight tests needed for aircraft certification. It provides instructions for manufacturing inspectors and flight test personnel. The TIA lists the certification basis, aircraft description and limitations, and tasks to be completed by each group to support type certification.
