In 2017, 41.7% of mothers aged 25 and over in the U.S. had a Bachelor’s or advanced degree, with non-Hispanic Asian mothers being the most likely to hold such degrees at 67.9%. The District of Columbia had the highest percentage of births to mothers with a Bachelor’s or advanced degree (58.5%), while Nevada had the lowest (26.6%). Additionally, the mean number of live births decreased as maternal educational attainment increased.
