This project report analyzes and compares the fluid film thickness and pressure distribution in different types of hydrodynamic bearings. A simulation is run using COMSOL to solve the Reynolds equation and determine the pressure developed in thin fluid films for plain, elliptic, split-half, and multi-lobe bearings with 2, 3, or 4 lobes.
