Can I read PWM control of inverters on EtoBox?

PWM control of inverters by Arnaud Videt is a book available to read on EtoBox.

What is PWM control of inverters about?

This chapter focuses on the control of single-phase and three-phase voltage-source inverters that are widely used for the conversion of AC electrical energy. Switching power conversion principles are reminded, along with pulse-width modulation (PWM) control and its carrier-based implementation to generate reference voltages. Control of single-phase inverters is developed for the half-bridge and full-bridge topologies, with a focus on inverter states representation and the associated degrees of freedom. The analysis is extended to three-phase inverters through the vector diagram of inverter states and its link with carrier-based modulation. Zero-sequence injection is introduced as a means of maximizing voltage ratio capability, leading to the implementation of classical PWM strategies commonly applied with three-phase inverters. Associated optimizations and trade-off are discussed, showing that inverter control not only ensures the delivering of required AC voltages, but also determines various application parameters such as waveform quality or power losses.
