A 17-year-old male presented with high grade fever, chills, rigors, headache, and vomiting for 8 days and was diagnosed with cerebral malaria based on fever, hepatosplenomegaly, and a positive QBC malaria parasite test showing ring forms of Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax; he was treated with antimalarial medications, dexamethasone, and supportive care and showed improvement over 5 days with resolution of symptoms and a negative follow up QBC test.
