This study examined the effect of high-dose folic acid (HDFA; 5 mg daily) on early stage diabetic foot ulcer (ES-DFU) wound healing. A retrospective review was conducted of 29 veterans with type 2 diabetes and ES-DFUs who received HDFA treatment. Medical records showed 90% (26/29) experienced complete wound closure during the study period. For 9 patients with suitable documentation, wound area closure over 4 weeks was significantly improved after HDFA treatment compared to standard treatment without HDFA. T
