This science project explores electromagnetic induction by using a coil of copper wire wrapped around a nail connected to batteries. When electric current from the batteries flows through the coil, it creates a magnetic field that can attract paper clips. Using higher voltage batteries like a 12V produces a stronger magnetic field than a 9V battery. Connecting batteries in series also increases the voltage and magnetic field strength. The project demonstrates how electric currents create magnetic fields.
