What is WiFi AP Localization via RSS Multilateration about?

This document proposes a method to localize WiFi access points using received signal strength measurements without knowledge of radio propagation parameters. It linearly approximates the exponential relationship between received signal strength and distance, allowing it to be used in a multilateration scheme to estimate access point locations given measurements from multiple locations.
