About this document
Diffuser Design for Wind Turbines by mjv_murugan is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This document discusses the use of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to develop the diffuser design for a diffuser augmented wind turbine (DAWT). Initial CFD modeling of the Vortec 5 prototype validated the use of CFD by matching flow visualization wind tunnel tests. Further CFD analysis identified design modifications that improved performance, such as adding a nosecone and modifying inlet slots. Ongoing CFD modeling continues to aid diffuser design development alongside wind tunnel and prototype testing.
