What is Network Limits for Time Sync in Packets about?

Recommendation ITU-T G.8271.1/Y.1366.1 outlines the maximum limits for phase and time error in packet networks, specifying minimum equipment tolerances at synchronization interfaces. It details the requirements for synchronization functions in network elements, focusing on time and phase distribution using packet-based methods. The recommendation is applicable to Ethernet, MPLS, and IP networks, ensuring full timing support at the protocol level.
