The Islamic Directorate of the Philippines (IDP) had two contending groups for its Board of Trustees. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) declared neither group as legitimate and set procedures for a proper election. Without following the SEC directives, the Carpizo group represented themselves as the IDP Board and authorized the sale of two parcels of land to the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC).
