What is Vagus Nerve Anatomy and Pathway about?

The vagus nerve emerges from the brain stem and exits the skull through the jugular foramen. It has two sensory ganglia - the superior ganglion located within the jugular fossa and the inferior ganglion located outside the jugular foramen. Within the foramen, the vagus nerve is near the jugular bulb, a swelling of the internal jugular vein containing the jugular glomus which monitors blood oxygen, carbon dioxide, and pH levels.
