What is Evening But Not Morning Aerobic Training Improves Sympathetic Activity and Baroreflex Sensitivity in Elderly Patients With Treated Hypertension about?
This study compared the effects of morning versus evening aerobic training on sympathetic activity and baroreflex sensitivity in elderly patients with treated hypertension. It found that only evening training decreased blood pressure, muscle sympathetic nerve activity, and improved sympathetic baroreflex sensitivity. The findings suggest that simply changing the timing of exercise may provide additional benefits beyond medications by reducing sympathetic overdrive and improving baroreflex function.
