Adduction in the hexadecane—decane—urea—isopropanol system—II kinetic studies by W.-C. Yang; F.S. Manning is a Engineering article available to read on EtoBox.

What is Adduction in the hexadecane—decane—urea—isopropanol system—II kinetic studies about?

Kinetic studies were performed for the system hexadecane-decane-urea-isopropanol at 25°C in a stopped-flow reactor. Altogether 188 experiments were carried out with seed densities ranging from 0 particles/cc to 2 X l@ particles/cc. The adduction rate was inversely proportional to the initial supersaturation at constant seed density and inversely proportional to the logarithm of the seed density at constant initial supersaturation. These experimental data agreed with theoretical predictions based on diffusion-controlled growth. This evidence suggested that adduction was controlled solely by the diffusion of poly-urea chains from the bulk solution to the solid adduct surface and not by diffusion of the hydrocarbon molecules.

Who reads Adduction in the hexadecane—decane—urea—isopropanol system—II kinetic studies?

It is typically read by researchers, students, and practitioners in Engineering.
