What is Rumi: The Universe Within You about?
Rumi was a 13th century Persian poet, jurist, theologian, and Sufi mystic. He was born in what is now Afghanistan but spent most of his life in Konya, Turkey, where he composed his masterwork, the Masnavi. The Masnavi is a six-volume poem considered by some Sufis to be the Persian-language Quran. Rumi founded the Mevlevi Order, also known as the "whirling dervishes," and encouraged the use of music, poetry, and dance as a means to reach a state of ecstatic union with God. Rumi
