About this document

Diagenesis of Siliciclastic Rocks by Shilpa Patil is a document available to read on EtoBox.

Diagenesis refers to the chemical, physical, and biological changes that sediments undergo after deposition and during the transformation into sedimentary rock. It occurs at pressures up to several kilobars and temperatures up to around 300°C. The main diagenetic processes are compaction, cementation, dissolution, and replacement. Diagenesis takes place in three realms - eogenesis at shallow burial depths near the depositional environment, mesogenesis under deeper burial conditions of increasing temperature
