What is Tshinakaho in Tshivenḓa Culture about?

This thesis examines non-verbal communication among the Vhavenḓa people of South Africa using a qualitative sociolinguistic and discourse analysis approach. It identifies several types of non-verbal communication used by Tshivenḓa speakers, including silence, body language, facial expressions, gestures, proxemics and time. The study finds that each type conveys various culturally-specific meanings. For example, silence denotes respect, kneeling shows kindness, and men walking behind women implies weakness.
