This study conducted a clinical audit of the intensive care unit (ICU) at Kamuzu Central Hospital in Malawi, analyzing 250 patient cases from 2019 to evaluate its performance. The findings revealed a mortality rate of 52.2%, with head injuries and peritonitis being the leading causes of admission and mortality. Despite improvements compared to the previous ICU, the current performance remains suboptimal, highlighting the need for better resources and standardized admission criteria.
