Little by Httle, some of the theoretical weaknesses became clear. I bought the three volumes of Marx's Capital with my graduation prize, and so on realised that the Keynesians had nothing of interest to say about the class struggle. I returned to the more accessible writings of Kalecki, whose price and distribution models made much more sense to me than the neoclassical-posing-as-Keynesian analysis that I had once accepted as definitive. And I struggled -how I struggled! -with Sraffa and the capital controversies, which eventually revealed there to be a huge hole at the heart of the conventional theory of capital and distribution. All this made me a Marxist, of sorts.
