This document proposes a new control approach for trajectory tracking of mobile robots using a cascaded control design. The error dynamics of a mobile robot are divided into two subsystems - a first-order subsystem for the angle error and a second-order subsystem for the forward velocity error. A global finite-time control law is designed for the first subsystem to stabilize the angle error.
