What is Trechus From Ethiopia With Aedeagus Right Side Superior in Repose, An Unusual Character State in Trechine Beetles (Coleoptera: Carabidae) about?

This article describes eight new species and three new subspecies of the ground beetle genus Trechus, specifically the subgenus Abyssinotus, endemic to Mt. Choke in northern Ethiopia. Notably, these species exhibit a unique morphological characteristic where their male genitalia are rotated 180° in repose, a first for the Trechinae subfamily. The paper also includes an identification key for all Trechus species found on Mt. Choke.
