This article aims to validate the factorial structure of the Alcohol Expectancy Questionnaire (AEQ-III) in adults living in Bucaramanga, Colombia. A sample of 601 adults aged 18-60 years old completed the AEQ-III. An exploratory factor analysis identified four key factors: decrease in physical tension, decrease in psychological tension, increase in expressiveness and sexuality, and inhibition and feelings of power.
