What is Cory Magic : Her People's Stories about?

For five days in August 2009, when Corazon Aquino passed away, she brought our nation together once more, in a way that she once inspired us to go against a fearsome dictatorship. This book captures the memorable images, emotions and experiences of those dramatic five days. It chronicles the events in three sections: Libing, Laban, and Laya-that is, the present, the past, and the future; or her funeral, her struggle, and the Filipino people's continuing fight for freedom. To keep her memory alive, eight witnesses who knew her well share their stories-Ballsy Aquino Cruz, Rapa Lopa, Bishop Soc Villegas, Teddy Boy Locsin, Alran Bengzon, Rene de Villa, Fr. Manoling Francisco, and Mar Roxas. Their stirring narratives are joined by anecdotes from over a hundred men and women from all walks of life who may not have known her personally but were inspired and touched by her life and death. These stories are woven together with captivating photographs taken by some of the best photographers today. Together they tell us how Cory's story and her values can help guide us into the future.
