About this document
Pyrolysis Oil in OPRA Gas Turbines by Ricardo is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Three test campaigns were conducted to test the application of pyrolysis oil in an OPRA OP16 gas turbine. The initial test used the existing combustor and found unburned fuel sediments. The second combustor design removed wall cooling but still had sediments. The third design optimized the air split and reduced the combustor size, allowing pure pyrolysis oil burning between 70-100% load. Future work includes designing a scaled combustor and determining an optimal fuel mixture for part-load operation.
