What is Understanding Action Research Methods about?

Action research is a family of research methodologies that pursue both action, or change, and research, or understanding, at the same time. It uses a cyclic or spiral process that alternates between action and critical reflection, continuously refining methods, data, and interpretation from earlier cycles to develop understanding. Action research is an emergent and iterative process that increases understanding and converges on what happens, and it is usually participative and qualitative.
