Hemoglobinopathies are inherited blood disorders involving abnormal hemoglobin. This study analyzed 344 patients in western Iran with abnormal blood tests. The most common findings were iron deficiency anemia in 45.3% of patients, α-thalassemia trait in 9% of patients, and minor β-thalassemia in 16.2% of patients.
