What is Role of Strain-Induced Vacancies in Serrated Flow about?

## Role of Strain-Induced Vacancies in Serrated Flow Analyses of the serrated flow in a titanıum modified austenitic stainless steel have been carried out in the temperature range 573 t0923 K, and in the strain rate range 10 " to 10°" s"'. A low temperature regime (LI-A) with type A serrations and two high temperature regimes (HT-A and HT-C) with mixed type (A+C) serrations were ıidentified. The variation of the critical strain for the onset of serrated flow with strain rate and temperature was analysed ın all three regimes based on the random walk model of Mukherjee and co-workers to evaluate the dependence of the mobile dislocation density with strain. In the light of the above analysis, the role of deformation-induced vacancies on the serrated flow in the three regimes is discussed.
