1) Sultan Syarif Kasim Abdul Jalil Saifuddin was the 12th and last sultan of the Siak Sultanate in Riau, Indonesia. 2) He succeeded his father, Sultan Syarif Hasyim I, as sultan at age 16 in 1908 and was officially crowned in 1915. 3) Sultan Syarif Kasim II strongly supported Indonesian independence and donated a significant portion of his wealth to help establish the new republican government.
