Faqeer Sadiq Ali alias Jaanan chan was a 20th century Sufi master in Sindh who rejected orthodox Islam and spent 40 years searching for spiritual truth. He was initiated into Sufism by Faqeer Mahdi Shah Jahanyaan and adopted the tradition of malamati Sufism. Faqeer Jaanan Chan combined classical Sufism with modern ideas, using poetry and music to propagate his unique understanding and visiting communities across Sindh.
