What is Beethoven about?

Ludwig Van Beethoven composed "Moonlight Sonata" while experiencing a period of deep depression brought on by deafness, the death of influential friends, and feelings of loneliness. Feeling that no one understood him, Beethoven isolated himself until he was moved to tears upon hearing a blind woman say she would give anything to see the moonlight. This inspired Beethoven to compose one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever, the "Moonlight Sonata", as a way to process his grief and longing.
