This study investigated calcifediol (25(OH)D)-loaded liposomes for local treatment of pulmonary bacterial infections. Liposomes containing 25(OH)D were successfully produced and characterized, with nanosized particles, a negative surface charge, and approximately 23% encapsulation efficiency of 25(OH)D.
