About this document

Wood Research: e-ISSN 2729-8906 70 (3) : 2025 376-390 PP by stanley is a document available to read on EtoBox.

This study investigates the effectiveness of sappan wood dye microparticles in dyeing candlenut and gmelina wood using alum and soda ash as mordants. Results indicate that a combination of alum and soda ash provides optimal dye penetration, with candlenut wood achieving deeper absorption than gmelina wood due to anatomical differences. The research highlights the importance of mordanting pretreatment in enhancing color absorption and durability in wood dyeing processes.
