About this document

Fly Ash Activation Effects on Concrete Strength by Miguel is a document available to read on EtoBox.

This document discusses a study that investigated the effects of chemically activating fly ash on the mechanical properties of concrete. Fly ash was used to replace 40% of cement by weight. Four chemical activators were tested: 2.5% Na2SO4, 2.5% NaOH, 3.0% (Na2SiO3 and CaO) ratio of 1:8, and 4% Aquis Na2SiO3. Concrete strengths were evaluated at room temperature and after exposure to high temperatures. Glass fibers were also added at 0.7% by weight of cementitious material to improve concrete properties.
